Tested answers to the free-plan questions AI video tools won't answer straight
Every answer comes from a real signup on the free plan, gives the date we tested it, and links to the evidence.
Questions we have tested
- Is Vizard AI free? Yes: 60 credits a month, 720p with a watermark (checked 15 Sep 2026). Every free-plan limit
- Is the Vizard AI watermark on every frame? Yes, first second to last (tested 25 Aug 2026). Frame crops
- Is OpusClip free? Yes: 60 credits a month, 1080p with a watermark (tested 14 Sep 2026). Free plan vs trial
- Can you remove the OpusClip watermark for free? No, it is part of the video frames (tested 14 Sep 2026). How we checked
- Is Submagic free? Trial only, and the editor will not export (re-checked 22 Sep 2026). What the trial allows
- Any AI clipping tool that exports free with no watermark? One route: Submagic's API (tested 22 Sep 2026). The API route
- Is Quso.ai free? There is a free plan, but it cannot make a clip (tested 27 Aug 2026). Where it stops
- Is vidIQ free? Yes, permanently: 150 AI credits a month (re-verified 27 Aug 2026). What each action costs
- Is Klap free? No free plan at all; the trial shows a 120-clip allowance you cannot spend (tested 18 Sep 2026). Klap in the five-tool test
How we test
Every review on this site starts with a real signup on the free plan. If export is blocked, the review says so. If a watermark appears on download, that is documented, not hidden. If a question needs a test we have not run yet, we say so instead of guessing. The full method is on our editorial process page.
Testing planned
We have not tested these yet, so we do not answer them yet:
- What CapCut's free plan includes for auto captions and silence removal, tested from a US connection. CapCut is not available in India.
- Why TubeBuddy's keyword tool shows "insufficient data" for a monthly search estimate.
- Which tools add B-roll on a free plan.
- Whether Klap watermarks its clips. Its trial generates nothing, so this needs a paid plan to answer.
